A couple shoot (sometimes called an engagement shoot or pre-wedding shoot) is simply an hour together creating relaxed photos of the two of you.
No pressure.
No awkward posing.
Just a walk, a chat, and some great photos along the way.
Some couples book one before the wedding to get comfortable in front of the camera. Others come back after the wedding just because they’d love some updated photos together. Either way, it’s always relaxed, fun, and a good excuse to spend an hour doing something different together.

Most couple shoots are very simple.
We meet somewhere nice, a beach, countryside walk, woodland, or even your favourite local spot.
You walk, talk, laugh, maybe race each other or jump in the air if that’s your thing.
I’ll guide you a little if needed, but most of the time I’m simply capturing the natural moments between you.
Nothing staged.
Nothing forced.
Just the two of you being yourselves.
** Light posing may be required, you can’t walk and talk for a full hour ha-ha.
Before.
Many couples book a couple shoot before their wedding.
It’s a great way for us to spend some time together so that on the wedding day I’m not a stranger with a camera.
You’ll also see how relaxed the experience actually is, which usually removes any nerves about being photographed.
And you’ll have some lovely photos of the two of you before the wedding day arrives.
After.
There’s absolutely no rule that says couple shoots are only for engagements.
Many couples come back a year or two after the wedding just to get some new photos together.
No big occasion needed.
Just an excuse to capture another chapter of your story.
Pricing.
Just like everything else on my site, pricing is simple.
£250 per hour
No hidden extras.
No paying more for the full gallery.
You’ll receive around 50 hand-edited images, delivered in a private online gallery ready to download, share, and print.

Most shoots take place somewhere in the North East (no travel costs), but I’m always happy to travel if you have somewhere special in mind (Travel Costs added).

Whether it’s before the wedding, after the wedding, or simply because you’d love some photos together, I’d love to capture it for you.
Book 10 hours or more for your wedding and I’ll also include a complimentary couple session before the wedding. It’s a great chance for us to meet in person, get comfortable in front of the camera, and create some relaxed photos of just the two of you.
FAQ.
Neutral colours and simple outfits work best. Avoid big logos or anything too matchy. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable. For outdoor sessions at the beach (my favourite) White, Cream, Light Blue work best as it matches the tones of the scene. Also 99% of the time for beach shoots NO SHOES are required and expect to get your feet wet near the end so bring a towel. A nice flask of something HOT is always lush afterwards too. Can’t beat a nice coffee.
Not really. I’ll guide you a little if needed, but most of the time I’m simply capturing real interactions as they happen. If you need some gentle guidance that’s fine. If we end up with some posed shots I typically try to shoot through the moment to capture a more natural, relaxed expression. Very light posing but generally everything is really relaxed.
If the weather is terrible we can reschedule. If it’s a little drizzle we might embrace it. Unlike a wedding we can re-schedule for a nicer day which is always the preferred option. My gear is weather sealed but I don’t really want to take it out in the rain – it costs a lot of money haha. Also your paying for lush photos, why settle for a bleak day when a re-schedule to the following week for example will give you a hot summers day. win win.
